Tengger is the name of the sky god of Mongolian grassland. Created in 2009 by the bandleader Nature Ganganbaigal, Tengger Cavalry blends overtone throat singing, Mongolian horse-head fiddle and other nomadic music tradition of Central Asia with heavy metal music, creating a unique music genre – Mongolian Folk Metal.
In 2015, Tengger Cavalry’s bandleader Nature moved to New York City from China and relocated the band with brand new American members. That same year the band released the album Blood Sacrifice Shaman, which received attention from many notable metal opinions including Metal Hammer, Revolver, Legacy, Noisey, and Chicago Reader.
